Mastering the Challenge of Managing Employees
June 6, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
“Bill’s work is not up to speed, but I’m afraid he’s going to get angry if I tell him.” “Mary does good work . . . when she actually comes to work.” “The problem with Joe is his attitude.” “I just want to fire her!” Employees who are difficult take up a lot of their supervisors’ time and can create serious morale problems within their departments. Supervisors, though, can turn these situations around, and this session shows you how. In “Surviving the Challenge of the Problem Employee,” you will discuss how to: Communicate supervisory expectations clearly; Improve relations and attitudes; Address an employee’s work performance deficiencies; and Respond if the above steps do not work. Faculty and other supervisors who need to know how to analyze and control problem employees will benefit from this program by learning how to get the workplace back on track to productivity. This workshop counts as an elective in the Supervisory Challenge certificate program. Pre-registration required in myTraining.
This is a program of the Managing at UF: The Supervisory Challenge.
