University of Florida Wind Symphony Presents: Serenades and Dances

Mark your calendars for the University of Florida Wind Symphony on Thursday, March 13th at 7:20pm in the University Auditorium for a night of notable chamber works with music director Dr. David Waybright and doctoral conducting associates Nick Junker and Colby Vasquez.

The first half of the program consists of a presentation of two famous wind serenades, Antonín Dvořák’s Serenade for Winds in D minor, Op. 44, conducted by director Dr. David Waybright, and Richard Strauss’ Serenade in E-flat, Op. 7, conducted by doctoral associate Nick Junker.

The second half of the program begins with a lecture recital from doctoral associate Colby Vasquez exploring Appalachian Spring, the famous ballet by choreographer Martha Graham and composer Aaron Copland. Following the presentation, Mr. Vasquez will conduct the composition for thirteen instruments.
