The Neighborhood Watch: Conserving Deadwood in Urban Landscapes
February 17 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Free
Dead wood is vital for forests, offering homes, nutrients, and food for birds, insects, and fungi. In cities, it’s often seen as ugly and removed. Neighborwood Watch connects arborists and gardeners to teach homeowners why dead wood matters. Through our site (https://neighborwoodwatch.org/), we share resources and surveys to help protect biodiversity and habitat in urban greenspaces. Learn more about the Neighborwood Watch project.
Guest speaker, Katy Deitz, UF/IFAS Plant Pathology department PhD student.
