Our Gulf, Our Future: How We Build for What’s Next
October 21 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Free
Florida is one of the fastest-growing states in the nation, with more than 1,000 new people moving here every day. How do we grow and build in ways that protect our environment, keep our economy strong, and put people first — especially when storms hit?
Join Shalini Vajjhala, a nationally recognized infrastructure and climate resilience expert, for a practical talk about planning and building for the long term, not just patching problems with short-term band-aids. Drawing on case studies, Vajjhala will offer simple ways we can all get involved and work together on everyday choices: where we build, how we handle flooding and heat, and how we help those most in need. The future of the Gulf is in our hands. Let’s build it together.
This event is free and open to the public.
Parking: University parking restrictions typically lift at 4:30 pm, but please check lot signs to verify after-hours availability. For this program, we have reserved a limited number of parking spots at no charge in the public at Murphree Hall silver/gold decal lot. Please view this map for reference.
