Mississippi Freedom Project Town Hall

February 7 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

SPOHP’s Mississippi Freedom Project brings students through rural Mississippi, Arkansas, Florida, and Alabama to learn about the lives of activists, politicians, and community leaders by conducting oral history interviews. These stories reveal community members’ experiences during the civil rights movement and the ongoing struggle against racial and economic inequality.

Join us to learn more about MFP and future opportunities! SPOHP researchers and MFP student participants will discuss their experiences with this ongoing initiative and share about how to participate in future trips.

Refreshments will be served!

If you prefer to join us virtually, you can watch the event via Facebook livestream at https://www.facebook.com/OralHistoryProgram/.

Parking on UF’s campus will be available at the UF Welcome Center parking garage (1900 Museum Road, Gainesville, FL 32611) and in the O’Connell Center Parking lot (Gale Lemerand Drive and West University Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32611) after 3:30pm. Here is the UF parking map from Transportation and Parking Services: https://taps.ufl.edu/parking-info/parking-map/.
