Eduardo Abaroa: Artists as Ethnographers
UF Ethnography Lab, feat. Kislak Family Foundation Artist in Residence, Eduardo Abaroa
Friday, November 1 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm | Grinter 376

In this event, we will explore a selection of creative projects by Latin American artists whom engage with methodologies drawn from ethnographic practice. These projects demonstrate a strong commitment to documenting the lives of individuals, yet they often depart from traditional scientific approaches, yielding unexpected and unconventional results. The works of artists such as Juan Downey, Luis Ospina, Carlos Mayolo, Daniela Rossell, Sandra Rozental, and Jesse Lerner, among others, will serve as a starting point for a group discussion on the role of creativity in forming connections across cultural and social contexts.
