Art After | Dark Museum Nights: Celebrating Indigenous People’s Week

In connection with the City of Gainesville’s recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Week and other programs across the university, the Harn is proud to partner with Indigenous and Native collaborators across the city and campus.

Join us for: 

  • Hands-on art activities 
  • Artist demonstrations by local artists Mario Mutis and Sylvestre Reyes  
  • Beading workshop with artist Yona Ovdiyenko, Bears’ Beadwork
  • Dance demonstration by powwow performers, Duane Whitehorse, Maria Whitehorse-Izzary and Terell Anquoe honor storytelling through movement and music.  

 

 

 

Offered in collaboration with The Indigenous People’s Task Force, Indigenous American Student Association (IASA), Gator Chapter of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), George Smathers Libraries, UF School of Theatre and Dance, UF American Indian and Indigenous Studies

Generous support for Art After Dark is provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program and a private grant.

Museum Nights are also sponsored by UF Student Government and the Office of the Provost.
