Vickers in “Florida in the Frame: A Century of Artists’ Reflections on the Sunshine State.” This exhibition investigates how these diverse images evoke and respond to the state’s natural resources\, its history and the popular culture of its recent past. Spanning c. 1850 to 1950\, the objects on view will include paintings\, works on paper\, and a small group of sculptures and textiles representing more than 65 artists such as Martin Johnson Heade\, Winslow Homer\, Thomas Moran\, John Singer Sargent\, Louis Comfort Tiffany\, Ralston Crawford and N.C. Wyeth\, as well as lesser-known artists such as Albert Backus\, Stevan Dohanos\, Jane Peterson\, Laura Woodward and Florida Highwaymen painters Johnny Daniels and Harold Newton. Admission is free. SUMMARY:Resilience & Mindfulness at Work (I) - Spring 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Resilience and Mindfulness at Work Workshop will take a holistic approach to consider all aspects of workplace resilience – physical\, cognitive\, emotional\, and spiritual (purpose and values) – and opportunities for increased self-awareness through mindfulness practices. During this one-day session\, participants will engage in conversations\, share strategies\, support each other\, and leave with a personal action plan to sustain wellbeing\, performance\, resilience\, and mindfulness at work. \nThis is an in-person session with limited seating. \nA light lunch will be provided (we cannot accommodate dietary restrictions). \nParticipants are asked to commit to complete one hour of pre-work before attending the session. \nInstructors \nAngie Brown is Director of UF Human Resources Communications and Worklife\, overseeing electronic and print communications as well as worklife initiatives designed for UF faculty and staff. Angie has practiced meditation for over 10 years and is a Certified Workplace Mindfulness Facilitator (CWMF). \nIrma Alvarez is a Leadership and Organizational Development Specialist at UFHR. DESCRIPTION:Join UF RecSports every Thursday for a fast-paced\, low-impact cardio workout! \nClasses are free\, open to all faculty and staff\, can accommodate 15 participants and are held on Thursdays in the Student Recreation and Fitness Center (SRFC) from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Registration for each class is required to participate. \n25 hours prior to the start of class\, a link will be emailed to register along with a waiver that must be signed. Registered participants must arrive at the SRFC lobby no later than 5:15 p.m. to be let into the facility. Registering for this class does not give access to any other RecSports facilities. To qualify to register\, you must sign in with your Gatorlink credentials. To do this\, ensure you select “GATORLINK LOGIN” at the top when prompted to sign in. For questions\, please contact rsgroupfitness@ufsa.ufl.edu. \nIndividuals who are not registered or arrive after 5:15 p.m. will not be able to attend the class.
