DESCRIPTION:Unlock the Living History of UF: Join “Reading UF Campus Buildings” Walking Tour on November 4th \n  \nHave you ever looked at the iconic brick facades of the University of Florida campus and wondered what stories they tell? \nThe UF community and public are invited to move beyond the surfaces of “functional brick and mortar” and “read” the university’s historic environment as a living cultural archive. \n\n\nOn November 4\, 2026\, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM\, Dr. Kole Odutola will lead a captivating campus walking tour\, “Reading UF Campus Buildings.” This immersive experience is supported by the UF Center for the Humanities and the Public Sphere (Rothman Endowment). \nThis special event approaches architecture as more than static shelter. As Dr. Odutola and attendees will explore\, every facade\, archway\, and courtyard functions as a legible text. This unique “reading” process will uncover how UF’s historic structures record shifting social values\, institutional ambitions\, and regional negotiations that have defined the campus and community for over a century. \nThe “Reading UF Campus Buildings” tour offers a powerful opportunity to connect with the UF campus on a deeper level.
