Blending elements of South American music\, jazz\, classical\, and experimental traditions\, Rutty’s work pairs lyrical melodies\, intricate rhythms\, and adventurous textures. \nAlejandro Rutty is Professor of Music Composition at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. SUMMARY:Art + Mindfulness Grounding: A Mindful Yoga Practice with Kim Holton
DESCRIPTION:This series of guided meditations is inspired by art in the Harn collections and led by expert facilitators with years of experience. Take a break from your regular schedule to slow down\, experience stillness\, and re-charge. Forty-five minutes of guided meditation is followed by an art spotlight tour.  No registration required   \nIn this session\, cultivate a sense of steadiness and presence through gentle\, accessible yoga followed by a guided body scan. Suitable for all experience levels\, this practice offers an opportunity to settle into the aliveness of the body before engaging with the museum and its collections. Wear comfortable clothes for movement and bring a mat if you have one. A limited number of mats will be available to borrow.\n\n\nKim Holton is an Instructional Associate Professor at UF in the Department of Health Education and Behavior in the College of Health and Human Performance. She began studying yoga in 1998 and teaching in 2002. She has completed teacher trainings through Sivandanda\, Nosara\, and the Kundalini Research Institute and received her certification in yoga nidra through the Amrit Yoga Institute. Kim has also trained with numerous nationally recognized yoga teachers in the traditions of Ashtanga\, Iyengar\, Kripalu\, Kundalini\, Restorative\, and Vinyasa. She has led yoga and workshops at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies and Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. In addition to holding a PhD in health and human performance\, she is a national board-certified health and wellness coach\, health education specialist\, and Narrative Enneagram teacher.

DESCRIPTION:Join UF RecSports every Monday for a fast\, efficient 45-minute class that will target your chest\, back\, arms\, shoulders and core. Build strength without the guesswork—show up\, work hard and leave stronger! \nSubscribe to the class mailing list to receive the registration link. \nClasses are free\, open to all faculty and staff\, accommodate 30 participants\, and are held on Mondays in the Student Recreation & Fitness Center (SRFC) from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Registration instructions are emailed 3 days before each class. Registered participants must arrive at the SRFC lobby by 5:15 p.m. to be let into the class. Registering for this class does not give access to any other RecSports facilities. To register for the class\, you must sign in with your Gatorlink credentials and complete the online waiver. When you sign in\, select “GATORLINK LOGIN” at the top when prompted. For questions\, please contact rsgroupfitness@ufsa.ufl.edu. \nIndividuals who are not registered or arrive after 5:15 p.m. will not be able to attend the class. Individuals who fail to attend two classes will be barred from registering for the remainder of the semester. \nIf you can’t attend a class you have registered for\, you must cancel your registration no later than 3 hours before the start of the class. DESCRIPTION:To kick off the 2026-2027 academic year\, the Division of Student Life is hosting Dr. Mary Gatta\, the Director of Research and Policy from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).  Dr. Gatta will be visiting UF’s campus to discuss NACE’s current research on career readiness\, competency and skill development\, and the value of higher education. In addition\, Dr. Gatta will provide insight into ways that faculty and higher education professionals can strengthen post-graduation outcomes. Dr. Gatta’s talk will build upon the many strides the UF community has made to ensure our students are prepared for work\, citizenship\, and life. \nDr. Gatta will be hosting a keynote session\, open to all faculty and staff interested in learning more about NACE’s updated research around career readiness. Dr. Gatta will present key findings that inform our work in higher education\, share observations from her current research\, and provide action items that faculty and staff can apply to their work for the next academic year. \nFollowing the keynote session\, Dr. Gatta will provide an additional discussion session exploring the application of her research within curricular and co-curricular experiences.
