UF Symphonic Band in Concert – “American Variations”

FreeThe University of Florida College of the Arts and School of Music present the UF Symphonic Band, under the director of Prof. John M. Watkins, Jr. in concert in the historic University Auditorium. The concert will open with the Florida Premiere of “Shout Out with Joy” based on the Ralph Vaughn Williams motet, arranged by Fr. Robert Annello. The program will feature several compositions based on themes from the Star Spangled Banner and America the Beautiful – highlighting the 90th anniversary of our National Anthem!
Guest conductors will include Ryan Klitz, Joseph Riedl and Preston Ridgell, masters students in the UF Bands program.
YES – there will be 3 marches for the 3rd of March! Marches by John Philip Sousa, Karl King, and E.E. Bagley will help keep spirits lifted moving toward Spring Break!
The concert is FREE and OPEN to the Public!
