NACE Career Readiness Speaker Event- Dr. Mary Gatta, Director of Research and Policy

To kick off the 2026-2027 academic year, the Division of Student Life is hosting Dr. Mary Gatta, the Director of Research and Policy from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).  Dr. Gatta will be visiting UF’s campus to discuss NACE’s current research on career readiness, competency and skill development, and the value of higher education. In addition, Dr. Gatta will provide insight into ways that faculty and higher education professionals can strengthen post-graduation outcomes. Dr. Gatta’s talk will build upon the many strides the UF community has made to ensure our students are prepared for work, citizenship, and life.

Dr. Gatta will be hosting a keynote session, open to all faculty and staff interested in learning more about NACE’s updated research around career readiness. Dr. Gatta will present key findings that inform our work in higher education, share observations from her current research, and provide action items that faculty and staff can apply to their work for the next academic year.

Following the keynote session, Dr. Gatta will provide an additional discussion session exploring the application of her research within curricular and co-curricular experiences. This more informal session will include application-based examples of incorporating career readiness initiatives into curriculum, as well as a Q+A discussion for educators and practitioners.
