The UF Opera Theatre and Ocala Symphony Orchestra present:

Mozart’s Cosí fan tutte
(A groovy tale of love and temptation in 1969)

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s masterpiece, Cosí fan tutte, will come to the stage of the beautiful University Auditorium in Gainesville, Florida, April 1-2, 2022. Talented vocal performers from the University of Florida (UF) College of the Arts / School of Music graduate and undergraduate programs make up the cast. The Ocala Symphony Orchestra once again partners with the UF Opera for this grand musical comedy. Recent collaborations include Phantom of the Opera, Die Fledermaus, and Opera Goes to the Movies.

Così fan tutte is the tale of two friends, Ferrando and Guglielmo, who are betrothed to two sisters and convinced of their fidelity. So convinced are they of their fiancées’ devotion that they disguise themselves as strangers to test the women’s faithfulness. This new adaptation takes place in 1969 San Francisco at the height of the free love and counterculture revolution. Humorous and, at times, genuinely heartfelt, this is one of Mozart’s most emotional scores with music that touches the soul.
