Peripheral artery disease, or PAD, is a narrowing of the arteries to the legs and pelvis as a result of cholesterol build-up. It can be difficult to know if you have PAD. The most common symptoms include cramping, pain or tiredness in the leg or hip muscle while walking, climbing stairs or exercising. Learn more about risk factors, symptoms and treatments for PAD.
