Join us in celebrating the Hippodrome Theatre’s 50th Birthday!
This celebration will honor the Hippodrome’s Past, Present, and Future, walking through our doors you can explore the different areas of the building and get a glimpse behind the inner workings of the Hippodrome.
Each area of the Hippodrome will be dedicated to showcasing the theater’s history, engaging with the Hippodrome’s current programming, or imagining the future of the Hippodrome.
Street Celebration
Wonder and wander as local organizations and community partners perform interactive vignettes around the grounds of the Hippodrome. Meet local artists and organizations as we fill the street in front of the Hippodrome with fun activities for all ages.
Hippodrome’s Open House
Go on a scavenger hunt through the Hippodrome or just take the tour.
First Floor
As you walk through our doors we invite you to visit the photography exhibit of past shows and the transformation of the building facade and interior held in the Main Gallery. In the cinema, visitors can sit back and relax while enjoying short films or vintage pictures.
Second Floor
Ever wanted to know what happens BEFORE a show is opened to the audience? On our main stage, our production team will give you a behind the scene look at creating theatre.
Third Floor
Visit our costume shop and learn how to create amazing, magical costumes on a small budget, peek into the rehearsal room, and you maybe even get to star in an improv show! Drop by the Development Office for a birthday cake and don’t forget to pick up your prize for the scavenger hunt.
Basement
After exploring the Hippodrome, join us in the basement for live music and a chance to catch up with new and old friends. Meet members of the Hippodrome staff and have your questions answered regarding the history, current operation, and upcoming shows. The bar will be open to serve classic Hippodrome cocktails and other drinks.
