Florida Wildflower Day

May 14, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us in our Florida Wildflower Garden! Our team will be replanting thousands of wildflower and grasses and they want to show you what they’re doing, and why. Talk with local groups about native Florida wildflowers and plants, pollinator-friendly landscaping practices, and much more!

First dedicated in 2006, the garden showcases native and Florida-friendly plants as a habitat and to help museum guests inspiration for their own yards. Now, we are re-imagining the garden to create an even more natural habitat for native insect pollinators and other wildlife.

In partnership with UF Facilities Services and the Natural Area Teaching Lab, we are working to reduce mowing and increase pollinator friendly planting at the University of Florida, and where better to start than our own backyard? At this event, you can watch employees, volunteers and students as they plant more than 17,000 native grass and wildflower plugs grown by NATL’s nursery.
