Critical Thinking Through Data Analysis

December 7, 2021 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Data-driven decision making is essential for doing business at UF. While running a report may give you information, does it provide the necessary perspective that you need to make a solid decision? Applying critical thinking skills to the information you are analyzing is essential for enabling good decisions. The training is organized around 4 areas of financial data:

  • Consistency/Variances
  • Accuracy/Errors
  • Allowability/Compliance
  • Budget/Available Balance

We will define questions to pose about the data and then step you through how to collect, organize, and analyze the information. Collectively, we will discuss potential pitfalls, identify questions the data does not answer, and explore ways to validate your results.

Prerequisites: Color of Money and ChartFields: Navigating Financial Transactions at UF

Target Audience: Business Administrators and UF staff who process or manage financial or HR transactions.

Level: Foundational to mid-level
Pre-registration required in myTraining. A link to Zoom will be sent to registered participants. test
