Art After Dark | Museum Nights: Liberty & Art For All

July 9 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, America250, at the Harn Museum of Art, reflecting on our diverse communities through the lens of Florida and American artists. Discover works that explore identity, history and cultural appreciation across the country and engage in the stories they tell.

Enjoy special poetry performances by Alachua County Poet Laureate E. Stanley Richardson, and experience an unforgettable music set by regional performer, songwriter and storyteller Rita Youngman, inspired by her Seminole heritage. Create a map with UF Shands Health Arts in Medicine using elements from UF campus nature, mythological maps and traditional cartography, leading to your own pursuit to happiness. Join in exciting hands-on art activities with the MUSEs and explore Florida’s history and representation with mini student-led tours of our main exhibition, Florida in the Frame.

Map-making with UF Shands Health Arts in Medicine is supported in part by the UF College of the Arts Creative B Summer Program in partnership with the Office of the Provost.

Generous support for Art After Dark provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program, and a private grant. Museum Nights are also sponsored by UF Student Government and the Office of the Provost.
